2D cutting is the simple action of cutting out shapes from flat materials. This is the most common type of cutting procedure and what the majority of customers request.  2 dimensional cutting also includes cutting of pockets in material. A pocket is a cut that does not go all the way through the material. We can remove material to thin a certain area or to create a recess. A radius or chamfer can also be applied to the cut edges.
